Through the Winters Ministry is led by Marsha and Samuel Winters. They have been married and been in ministry together for over 20 years. They have ministered to thousands of people through different venues like teaching, preaching, outreaches, conferences, the arts, and workshops. Samuel is currently the associate pastor of a church located in Long Island, New York and they both parent their four children.

Through the Winters Ministry provides healing and strength for those who have experienced trauma in their lives. We help families of trauma survivors understand the world in which their loved ones are living. We also teach parents and spouses to find a better way to relate to them, support them, and help them overcome. God healed Marsha from the aftermath of an abusive childhood. Now she and Samuel serve not just those who have been abused, but also those who have been through loss and other painful moments. This ministry helps those people to see their painful moments become their most purposeful moments. The Winters’ “spiritual toolbox” consists of their own pain-to-purpose life experiences, as well as two decades years of ministry. But, above all, when they teach, they use the Bible as their foundation. Their books, blog posts, sermons, Bible studies and more share the message that this world cannot dictate your destiny when you have God.

MEET OUR STAFF

Marsha is the mother of four beautiful children and is married to her teenage love. They have been in ministry for almost 20 years where Sam started off as a youth pastor in the NYC. They have ministered to thousands in different ways and in 2014, they decided to try a new way to help others. Taking a huge step of faith, Marsha Winters wanted to use her story as a bridge to minister to others who experienced trauma, loss, and abuse.

Her and her husband, Samuel, published her story in their book series, “The Threshing: A Weapon Forged by Fire.” When she is not writing her books or an article, studying for her degree, working, or running her women’s bible study, or assisting in youth group, she is watching as much Food Network as her brain can ingest. Cooking and baking is a hobby she aims to perfect before Jesus comes back.

Samuel is the head of Through the Winterministry as well as the father of 4 kids and happily married to Marsha for over 19 years.  Samuel has been in full-time ministry, first as a youth pastor for ten years and now an Associate Pastor at an Assembly of God church in Long Island.

Samuel does a lot of behind the scenes stuff for the ministry and is co-writer with Marsha.  His heart and passion is for people to experience healing from their past hurt as well as healing of marriages and healthy growth for today’s youth and young adults.
When he is not overseeing a ministry, doing yard work, helping a child with homework, he enjoys watching a good movie with Marsha, playing video games to detox and eating a dessert with a glass of milk with her to seal the night.

 

 

 

Anton and Elizabeth have been married since 2010 and were high school sweethearts! Both are heavily involved in their church. They are both on the church’s worship team and have been leading worship together since they were only 16 years old. Anton also heads the sound ministry while Elizabeth takes care of all media related tasks. In there free time Elizabeth loves being outdoors, gardening and building things. Anton can usually be found fixing a computer or watching hours of Psych and The Office!
The Madaia’s are our media team! Elizabeth does all of our photography and has her own photography business called Elizabeth Madaia Photography! Her husband Anton is our go-to guy when anything technology related is broken. He also does our video editing! He’s the kind of tech guy that just needs to be in the room, and all the technology knows he’s there and just starts working again.
Together they have three beautiful children (Josiah, Aria & Leia). You all have seen their faces throughout our articles! Josiah is the biggest Star Wars fan (has never seen Stars Wars) that you will ever meet. He takes after his “Winters” side for that one! He loves playing legos and adventuring and learning all that he can! Aria is next in line and is as silly, sassy, crazy, hilarious and absolutely adorable as they come. She is rarely found not trying to make someone laugh or smile. She loves to get dirty and would live outside if you let her. Leia may be the tiniest little girl, but they wouldn’t be the Madaia’s without her. She has such a sweet content personality, and she is such a joy. She sure loves to eat!
