The Threshing Series
Marsha and Samuel are the Authors of the book, “The Threshing: A Weapon Forged by Fire.” In their book, Marsha’s story of her survival from extreme physical and sexual abuse is highlighted throughout. In this painful time, God spoke to her at a young age, but her hurt and anger against him lead her to reject him over and over again.
Through her teachings Marsha shares how the love of God wooed her to trust him when she finally hit rock bottom. He delivered her physically and spiritually from a destructive life.
Marsha and Samuel’s book has been a catalyst for starting Through the Winters Ministry. The book is geared towards reaching and impacting those who have gone through abuse, hurt, rejection and different forms of trauma, and help to provide an opportunity for healing. You can buy the book on Amazon or Barnes & Noble!
The Threshing: The Makings of a Soldier, is a part two to the testimonial of Marsha Winters. In the times we live in today, we understand war, fighting, and violence but we don’t equate these attributes with a follower of Jesus Christ. As believers, we are thought to be weak, wimpy, hippies that are disconnected from the world around them.
In this book, believers are challenged to see their walk with God as enlisting in the Army of God; as soldiers. When we envision ourselves in war as soldiers, and we view God as our Commanding Officer, we are less likely to pick and chose what we will or will not obey. But before we can fight in a war, we need to go into God’s boot camp.
Our book is available for purchase both on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
What Others Are Saying
“I do not believe that we know everyone’s story. There are many sitting in our congregations that have grown up with abuse, are stuck, and don’t know who to turn to, or what to do. I believe Sam and Marsha’s story can help. I would highly recommend their book, and encourage you to allow them to share their ministry with your congregation or group.”
- David Nuzzolo, Executive Assistant, Metro of New York Ministry Network
"Inviting the Winters to our church to minister was one of the most rewarding ministry decisions that I have made. Blending the raw truth of her life with her genuine, down-to-earth personality and humor, Marsha Winters’ connection with our church was amazing. Their ministry paved the way for our church leadership to re-evaluate our commitment to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to children in our community. Marsha’s testimony was also a reminder that every one of us can impact a life for the Kingdom of God.”
-Chris Delmadge
Intercultural Presbyter for New York Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God
“As Marsha walks us through her development as a soldier of the Lord, each of us can benefit from seeing similar opportunities we have been given to make the tragedies and hurts of life into sources of strength and wisdom.”
-Duane P. Durst Superintendent of the New York Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God
